Dear LMDBL Member,
It is regrettable that I am informing you that I am resigning as League Chair.
Without going into too much detail, this decision has not come lightly but being the League Chair has taken its toll on my mental wellbeing, particularly due to one individual and the negative influence they have on the League. I have seen how others in previous committee roles have begun to resent badminton because of similar issues and I do not want it to get to that stage for myself. I can only hope that by resigning, these issues may subside and the season can progress as normal.
I would like to thank those who have supported me during my 18 months on the committee, and for all the incredible work they have done, in particular Gaye Jackson, Nick Haigh and Linda Simms. This League is full to the brim with lovely, genuine people and I look forward to continue seeing you all on the badminton court!
I know this may put the League in a difficult position and I wholeheartedly apologise for that. However, I am unwilling to sacrifice my mental wellbeing for a voluntary position for a hobby I enjoy.
Good luck with the season ahead and everything in the future. See you on the court!
Best wishes,
Jess Logue
